Halloween Pests And How To Avoid Them

Spiders, rats, and bats, oh my! Those are the pests that come to mind when we think of classic Halloween animals. They also happen to be common home invaders during the fall, so what better time to discuss them than now?

spiders

With their spooky eyes, eight legs, and sticky webs, it’s understandable why you would be frightened of spiders in your home. Not to mention their association with witches!

Different kinds of spiders are attracted to different things. Some prefer moisture, while others thrive in dry atmospheres. But no matter what, you’ll often find them in high corners or hidden in cracks and crevices. They don’t want to be seen just as much as you don’t want to see them.

rats

Like most pests, finding rats in your home is far more common in the fall and winter. They enter your home in search of food, water, and shelter from the elements. So to keep them out, make sure you’re cleaning up the kitchen often and sealing cracks in your home’s foundation.

bats

Similar to rats, bats are taking up residence in your home to avoid the elements as well as potential predators, and they don’t need much space to make themselves at home. They can find their way inside through almost any gap in window casings, air vents, and siding of your home.
